A group of 121 farmers who were on a hunger strike at the Khanauri border in support of their leader, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, ended their indefinite protest on Sunday after he received medical assistance.

Farmer leaders, however, declared that Dallewal would continue his fast until a law guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for crops is enacted.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), the umbrella organization for the farmers' union that led the 2020-21 farmers' protest, has decided to send memorandums to MPs instead of holding a protest outside their offices on January 20.
