CM, Kharge inaugurate Tribal Cultural Festival, development works worth Rs 936 crore
RAICHUR University in Yargera village, coming under the Raichur Rural assembly constituency, was renamed as 'Adikavi Maharshi Valmiki University' by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and AICC president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday.
They also inaugurated the 'Tribal Cultural Festival' that was jointly organised by the district administration and Department of Tribal Welfare and various development works worth Rs 936 crore. The decennial celebrations of amendment to Article 371 J was also inaugurated by them. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that his government is one that fulfils its promises and inaugurated works worth Rs 936 crore on the same day (June 23).
