As pre-monsoon rain received across the district, agricultural activities are set to gain momentum in the coming days.

- FIROZ ROZINDAR @ Vijayapura

Farmers, optimistic about a good monsoon and a potential bumper harvest, have begun preparing their lands for sowing. The Agriculture Department has also geared up to ensure timely supply of quality seeds, fertilizers, and implements to support the farmers.

Rainfall and Land Preparation

According to the Agriculture Department, Vijayapura district has received 73.7 mm of rainfall so far this year, which is 94% of the normal 78.7 mm expected from January to May. Recent showers have created favourable conditions for land preparation, and many farmers have started clearing fields.
