Mahant Shivayogi's birthday observed as Addiction-Free Day

MAHANT Shivayogi's contribution towards building a healthy and addiction-free society is immense, said Kalaburagi-South MLA Allamaprabhu Patil here on Friday.
Inaugurating the 'Addiction Free Day' event, on the occasion Mahant Shivayogi Swamiji's birthday, jointly organised by Karnataka State Liquor Control Board, District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Information and Public Relations Department, District Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Degree College and Postgraduate Centre here, Allamaprabhu Patil said that Mahanta Shivayogi laid the foundation for building an addiction-free society by going from door to door, and taking people's vices into his bag.
"Mahant Shivayogi fought against alcohol addiction throughout his life. In recognition of the social service of such a great man, the government is observing his birth anniversary as an Addiction-Free Day across the state," he said.
