Experts urge engineers to embrace AI, lifelong learning

WE are in the midst of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, where artificial intelligence, machine learning, green technologies, advanced materials, and autonomous systems are redefining industries every few years, said Director of IIEST Shibpur of Howrah (West Bengal) Prof V M S R. Murthy here on Saturday.

Participating as the chief guest in the 13th Graduation Day of HKE Society's Poojya Doddappa Appa College of Engineering here, Murthy said that when he was a student, they measured innovation in decades. Today innovation cycles are measured in months. That means the learning of the students cannot stop at the gates of PDA College; it must be continuous, lifelong and self-driven, he said.
