Central govt can't issue notification to increase Almatti dam height, says MP

BJP MP Govind Karjol said on Friday that the Congress' demand that the Centre issue a gazette notification on increasing the height of Almatti dam from 519 meters to 524 meters could not be fulfilled as the matter is before the Supreme Court.
On that party's demand to consider Upper Krishna as a national project, Karjol said even this could not be done as it is an inter-state project and the dispute over water sharing has not been settled. Addressing the media, Karjol accused the Congress government of not showing any interest in finding an amicable solution to this dispute.
