REGRETTING that excess usage of chemical fertilizers is adversely affecting soil fertility and human health, Vijaylakshmi Chavan, Assistant Director of Agriculture, has advised farmers to adopt dairy farming which will not only help in earning money, but also helps in implementing organic farming by using cow dung as organic manure.
She was speaking after inaugurating a six-day training programme on dairy, goat and poultry farming held by the Department of Agriculture on Monday.
She said that awareness on organic and dairy farming is also gradually increasing among people as they are realizing the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers.
