RON taluk panchayat in Gadag district has started Masik Sante (monthly market), a new concept in the region to help rural women entrepreneurs. This market provides a platform for rural women to sell their products. Women in rural areas make food products, handicrafts, toys and other homemade items.
On day one, the sante got a good response with visitors purchasing many products to encourage rural women. Many women entrepreneurs said that they are happy to get a platform as they used to struggle to sell their products earlier.
