Lakkundi celebrates its tableau in R-Day parade

THE residents of Lakkundi in Gadag district are in high spirits after their village's Brahma Jinalaya temple was selected to be Karnataka's tableau in this year's Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
The recent excavations have brought Lakkundi into the limelight, making it a subject of pride for the villagers.
The Archaeological Department has adorned Brahma Jinalaya temple with special lights and hoisted the National flag atop it. Illuminated for the past four days, villagers have also decorated their doorsteps with rangolis, adding to the festive atmosphere.
