DHARWAD district authorities have said that they are prepared to face the possible drinking water scarcity in the district during the summer season.
DHARWAD district authorities have said that they are prepared to face the possible drinking water scarcity in the district during the summer season. Besides having plans to provide drinking water, the administration is also looking forward to tackling the most common diseases like malaria and other contagious diseases that spread due to unseasonal rains and changes in climatic conditions.
The plans and projects are being done under the supervision of district in-charge minister Santosh Lad. In the recent past, a survey-like work was taken up in the district and areas with water scarcity were classified into three groups—possible scarcity, scarcity and severe scarcity. Speaking to TNIE, Dharwad deputy commissioner (DC) Divya Prabhu said that implementation of 24x7 drinking water project is in progress in some taluks and will be completed soon. With regard to the ongoing work, the administration has asked the authorities concerned to get the work done within a specific time-time.
