Police opened fire when the accused assaulted them in a bid to escape, in Dharwad
POLICE opened fire at two criminals when they tried to attack them in Dharwad on Thursday morning. The two were shot in their legs when the police had taken one of the accused to the outskirts of Nuggekeri to trace a gang of robbers who were accomplices of the accused.
The firing incident happened a day after two miscreants tried to rob a biker near Police Training College in Dharwad. They stopped the two-wheeler borne victim on Wednesday night and assaulted him, but the latter managed to escape.
