PRIME Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation tour from December 15 to 18, with stops in Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman, a visit aimed at deepening India’s strategic footprint across West Asia and Africa and sealing a major free trade agreement with Oman.
The visit comes at a time when New Delhi is stepping up its economic diplomacy and consolidating ties with key partners in the Global South. The most closely watched element of the trip will be Modi’s visit to Oman on December 17-18, where India and Oman are expected to formally sign their Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
