RBI plans slew of measures to inject ₹1.5 lakh cr liquidity into the system

FACED with rising liquidity crunch, which has crossed ₹3 lakh crore mark many times in recent weeks, the Reserve Bank on Monday announced a slew of liquidity measures, including a ₹60,000 crore of open market operation (purchasing government securities) in three tranches and holding a 56-day variable rate repo auction for ₹50,000 crore, among others.
These measures will release ₹1.5 lakh crore of lendable funds to banks.
