In an intriguing case, two people surrendered at the police station, owning up to the murder of their friend around 50 days ago. Based on their statement, the Chettipalayam retrieved the skeletal remains of a man, said to be murdered by the suspects, from a 40-foot-deep well near Madukkarai on Friday.
Police say the murdered man is believed to be Jayaraman (24) of Tirunelveli district. The suspects are D Balamurugan (45) and P Murugaperumal (25), both from the same district as Jayaraman's.
