Telecom service providers' ARPU surges 16.89% in FY25 on tariff hike

The average revenue per user (ARPU) of telecom service providers saw major growth in FY 2024-25, registering a year-on-year increase of 16.89%, driven by tariff hikes implemented by all private telecom operators.
As per the latest annual report from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the ARPU for wireless services rose by 16.89%, increasing from ₹149.25 in FY24 to ₹174.46 in FY25. This marks one of the sharpest year-on-year jumps in user revenue in recent years across the three major private telecom players—Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea.
