India has inaugurated its largest international cruise terminal at Ballard Pier, Mumbai, marking a significant milestone in the nation's maritime tourism sector. The Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT), with a total project cost of ₹556 crore, officially commenced operations on April 21, 2025. Union minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, presided over the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing the terminal's potential to transform India's cruise tourism landscape.
