N a landmark step that blends science, culture and environmental awareness, the northeastern Indian state of Meghalaya is all set to unveil the world's first Rain Museum, in Mawsynram — the wettest inhabited place on Earth.
With an average annual rainfall of around 11,872 millimetres and a record-breaking peak of 26,000 millimetres in 1985, Mawsynram, nestled in the East Khasi Hills, has long fascinated meteorologists, travellers and monsoon romantics alike.
