Use of VPN banned over security issues

TO tighten digital surveillance and prevent misuse of social media platforms, the authorities have imposed a ban on use of Virtual Private Network (VPN) services in Kashmir district, including Srinagar and four districts of Jammu region.
Actions have been initiated against over 100 people for violating the prohibitory orders. While invoking Section 163 of BNSS, District Magistrate Srinagar ordered ban on use of VPN services in Srinagar for two months.
