UPSC aspirant electrocuted: NHRC issues notice to chief secretary, police, discom

THE National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday issued a notice to Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, and Tata Power-Delhi Distribution Limited (DDL) Chairman to submit a detailed report within two weeks on the death of a UPSC aspirant due to electrocution.
Nilesh Rai, the 26-year-old student who was staying as a paying guest at Patel Nagar in central Delhi and preparing for the civil services examination, got electrocuted when he slipped on a waterlogged street and grabbed an iron gate to regain balance. The incident took place around 2:40 pm on July 21.
