Student Unions Demand Rollback of Metro Fee Hike, Call It 'Unjustified'

The Students' Federation of India (SFI) and the All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) on Tuesday staged a protest outside the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) headquarters, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the recent metro fare hike.
University students across Delhi joined the demonstration, condemning the hike as 'unjustified and burdensome'. Protesters argued that many students already spend over ₹100 daily on commute, and the hike will add ₹500-800 to their monthly expenses, straining families from middle-class and economically weaker sections.
