Recovery under IBC falls to 25% in Sept quarter

|December 03, 2025
THE Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) continues to show signs of stress, with the ratio of resolutions to liquidations slipping to 0.7x in the September quarter from 0.9x in the three months to June.
Realisations also declined to around 25% from 30% during this period, highlighting the need to improve the effectiveness of the resolution process.
Not just that — timelines, long considered the weakest link in the NCLT framework, have stretched further. As many as 77% of cases exceeded the statutory limits, the highest since FY23, according to an analysis of the latest Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India data by India Ratings.
