Punjab village bids adieu to He-Man ‘uncle’

THE He-Man of Bollywood, 89-year-old veteran actor Dhar-mendra, who acted in more than 300 movies spanning 65 years, belonged to Dangon village, some 25 km away from Ludhiana in Punjab. His extended family still lives there who says that he was a frequent visitor.
In the ancestral house in Dangon now lives his 103-year-old aunt, Pritam Kaur (wife of his father’s brother, the late Ja-gir Singh). Dhamendra was born in his maternal village, Nasrali, also near Ludhiana.
