Navy Chief to firm up def ties during 4-day Lanka visit, meet political leaders

NAVY Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi on Monday embarked on an official visit to Sri Lanka to take forward bilateral defence relationships with the island nation.
During his four-day visit, Admiral Tripathi is scheduled to meet the top political leaders and military officers. In a statement, the Navy said, “During the visit, the CNS will call on the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dr Harini Amarasuriya and engage in bilateral discussions with the three Service Chiefs and other senior govt officials on a broad spectrum of defence cooperation matters, with emphasis on maritime security, capability enhancement, training and identifying avenues to strengthen Cooperation.”
