Monsoon session over, both Houses adjourned sine die

BOTH Houses of Parliament vere adjourned sine die on Frilay, one sitting ahead of the cheduled end of the session.

The Budget session, which bean on July 22, was scheduled o end on August 12. When the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha vere adjourned, the Opposition criticised the move, saying it was not a "good practice".

Delivering a valedictory adIress after the second session of the 18th Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla said the productivity f the House was 136 per cent nd 15 sittings were held, which asted for 115 hours.

While Congress MP Manickm Tagore said adjourning both he Houses sine die is not a good practice", TMC MP Derek Obrien opined, "For the 11th ime, a skittish Modi governnent has cut Parliament sesion short. After being out-deated on every subject, including he Budget, Modi's NDA runs way from Parliament."
