AHEAD of the Haryana Budget Session beginning on February 20, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh has sought “concrete and clear” provisions for the conservation of the Aravalli range, warning that decades of mining and illegal construction have caused severe ecological damage.
In a pre-budget letter to Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, Singh, who is also the MP from Gurugram, cautioned that builders were eyeing the ecologically sensitive region and urged the BJP-led state government to make Aravalli protection a top budgetary priority.
