UNION Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday claimed that the BJP would win the next year’s West Bengal Assembly polls with absolute majority, accusing the Mamata Banerjee government of “dangerously altering” the state’s demography by abetting the infiltration of Bangladeshis for electoral gains.
On the second day of his three-day visit to Bengal, Shah cited the steady rise in BJP’s vote percentage in the state. “BJP had 17% vote share in 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Bengal and it came down to 10% in 2016 assembly polls.
