J&K unemployment soars past national average

THE unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir is becoming a serious concern, currently at 6.7%, which is nearly double the national average of 3.5%.
Adding to the distress of jobless youth, the government recruitment agencies have collected more than ₹48 crore as application fees from the unemployed aspirants in just two years.
In a written reply to a question, the union territory informed the Assembly on Monday that as per the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), the unemployment rate in J&K stands at 6.7 % as against national average of 3.5%.
