Indonesia was one of the few countries that moved quickly to sign a deal with Trump.

Tariffs were consequently reduced from 32% to 19% in July. The deal allowed Indonesia to secure an exemption for its principal products such as palm oil, cocoa and rubber. It helped the US as well as it gets about 85% of its palm oil imports from Indonesia alone.
For Indonesia, the deal ensures continued access to its second-largest export market. In 2024, Indonesia's exports to the US stood at $40 billion covering sectors like textiles, electronics, rubber, palm oil, and footwear.
