Planning a train journey during the upcoming holiday rush? Well, you need not worry about return tickets, as the Ministry of Railways, in a first-of-its-kind initiative, has introduced a round-trip package scheme, offering a 20% discount to passengers booking return journey tickets, initially launched on a trial basis.
The Ministry of Railways on Saturday said the scheme has been launched as a pilot to test its feasibility. Under this scheme, booking for all reserved classes will start from August 14 on discounted fares for onward journeys scheduled between October 13 and 26 for all trains except the Rajdhani, Duranto and Shatabdi which use flexi-fare system.
Notably, no refund of fare will be permissible for tickets booked under this scheme!
