SHOWCASING advanced launch platform capabilities, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), has successfully launched the Intermediate Range Agni-Prime missile from a rail-based mobile launcher in a full operational scenario.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) said the next-generation missile test, conducted on September 24, is designed to cover a range of up to 2,000 km and is equipped with several advanced features. This first launch from a specially designed rail-based mobile launcher marks a significant milestone. The launcher moves freely across the rail network, enabling rapid, low-visibility launches. It is self-sustained, with independent launch capability, advanced communications, and protective systems.
