Co-op sector gains momentum as agri, housing loans waived

IN a bid to bolster the welfare and development landscape of the Union Territory of Puducherry, the government has fervently pursued various schemes and initiatives aimed at uplifting different segments of society.

The recent budget allocation of ₹92.22 crore, with a remarkable utilisation rate exceeding 90%, underscores the government's commitment to inclusive growth and prosperity.

Under the Cooperation department, significant strides have been made to alleviate financial burdens and promote economic empowerment. The government has extended waivers of penal interest and interest subsidies to 481 members in the housing sector, providing much-needed relief to beneficiaries. Additionally, agricultural loan waivers and the disbursement of the last installment to 7940 farmers have been instrumental in easing financial constraints and fostering agricultural sustainability.
