FINANCE minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced significant reductions in Basic Customs Duty(BCD) across various sectors including precious metals, electronics, critical minerals, other metals, marine products, agriculture, chemicals, petrochemicals, drugs, textiles, and leather.
While presenting the general Budget in Parliament on Tuesday, the minister proposed a 15% cut in BCD for mobile phones, Mobile Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), and mobile chargers.
