‘Hamas leader’s virtual address in Kerala would not have happened if India had taken step’
ISRAEL recently designated Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) as a terrorist organisation, citing its involvement in the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai targeting Jews. Israeli Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, expressed optimism that India would label Hamas as a terror organisation. "We did whatever was expected from our side. Now it is for the Indian government to decide if, where, how, how fast," Gilon said. He mentioned the potential prevention of Hamas leader Khaled Mashal's virtual address in Kerala if India had taken this step earlier.
Days after the October 7 Hamas attack on Israeli cities, Israel urged India to designate the group as a terrorist entity.
