POCSO court also imposes a fine of ₹1.81 lakh to be given to victims
A court has sentenced five persons to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1.81 lakh each in connection with the 2016 Bulandshahr NH-91 gang rape case involving a mother and her daughter.
The verdict was delivered on Monday by Additional District and Sessions Judge (POCSO) Om Prakash III, who described the ruling as significant in a case that had shocked the district. The court also directed that the total fine amount be equally distributed between the two rape survivors.
Those awarded life imprisonment are Zubair and Sajid, residents of Kannauj, and Dharamveer, Naresh and Sunil, residents of Farrukhabad.
