Additional special trial courts will make judicial system robust: Top court

THE Supreme Court on Wednesday said that setting up additional trial courts would make the judicial system more “robust”, as accused persons would not be required to approach the apex court for reliefs such as bail or expeditious hearings in criminal cases.
The observation came while the top court reviewed the status of establishing a special trial court in the national capital. On January 6, the Supreme Court had asked the Centre and the Delhi government to consider setting up a special court to conduct a day-to-day trial in a 2021 case investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) concerni
