FORTY primary school students in Gujarat's Amreli district harmed themselves with pencil sharpener blades after a boy, who was addicted to gaming, tempted his classmates with a reward of Rs 10 for participating in the act.
It was even more disturbing that the teachers hid the incident for eight days before it surfaced, forcing police intervention.
Inspired by a video game, a 7th-grade student in Munjiasar school challenged his classmates to let him spin a blade on their hands and win ₹10. If they refused, they had to pay him ₹5 instead.
