3 Soldiers Killed as Avalanche Hits Siachen's Army Base Camp

Three soldiers were killed after an avalanche hit their base camp at the Siachen glacier, the world's highest battlefield, in the cold desert of the Union Territory of Ladakh on Tuesday, according to officials.

The avalanche hit the Army base camp located at an altitude of 12,000 feet. Three soldiers, including two Agniveers of Mahar Regiment, were trapped under the snow.

The Army immediately sprung into action and launched a search operation to rescue the trapped soldiers. They managed to retrieve bodies of all three missing soldiers from the snow.
