13 KILLED, 50 HURT IN BUS CRASH IN HIMACHAL

AT least 13 people were killed and 30 others were injured after a private bus plunged nearly 500 feet into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district on Friday afternoon, police said.
The accident occurred when the bus travelling from Shimla to Kupvi via Rajgarh skidded off the road in Haripurdhar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the affected family and announced an ex-gratia of %2 lakh to the deceased’s kin and 250,000 for the injured.The bus was reportedly overcrowded, with 66 people reportedly in the vehicle that had a capacity of 39. The bus lost control due to frost on the road, said sources, adding that the cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
