Justice, not selective outrage, must guide our responses

Violence against civilians is never defensible and it must be applied universally, not selectively, when victims are white or Jewish. For centuries, colonialism and its offshoots have plundered, displaced, and massacred, often with the world's silent acquiescence. Political responses demand scrutiny. Leaders were quick to label the Bondi cruel attacks as antisemitic terrorism while unveiling expanded police powers and new legislation that risk curtailing
