Workers at defence firm vote to strike on pay offer

WORKERS at a world-leading defence and aerospace manufacturer are set to go on strike in a row over pay.

Employees at Leonardo could walk out after the company refused to improve its pay offer.
Nearly 3,000 members of the Unite union have voted for strike action. It will take place later this autumn unless the company meets their demands.
Workers at the site in Newcastle were among those who were balloted for industrial action, after rejecting a pay offer of 3.2% from the employer. The other sites were Edinburgh, Yeovil, Luton and Basildon.
