Warning of overnight closures on Tyne Bridge

AS restoration work on the Tyne Bridge continues, a series of additional overnight closures are set to take place this week.

Weekday overnight closures are said to be necessary for the installation of new scaffolding as the weather worsens.
Additional closures of the Tyne Bridge have been announced by Newcastle City Council from tonight, to ensure teams can complete the scaffolded walkway on the east footway - a vital step before major repairs and repainting begin next year.
