LUCY Bronze’s mum has shared how her daughter’s sports science background helped her to triumph at the Euros while competing with a fractured leg.

Diane Bronze appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Woman's Hour to reveal how the defender lives up to her fitting middle name of Tough.

Speaking from Switzerland, the proud mum discussed how many of Lucy’s Lioness teammates and the extended family were aware of her broken tibia.
