Sunderland cannot live with Felling ace Khan

FELLING enjoyed a comfortable home win against Sunderland as the visitors struggled to cope with the bowling of Ishaq Khan.

The hosts batted first and made 251-8, with opener Alisdair Appleby firing a breezy 43, Alan Mustard adding 44 and Muhaymen Majeed scoring 69.

Khan then put the Ashbrooke outfit under pressure, claiming 5-27 as they were dismissed for 154, although Michael Nunn did his best to keep Felling at bay with 62.

Shotley Bridge were all out for 100 at Newcastle, with Lee Olver claiming an excellent 5-20.

Ross Burdon scored 37 for the Bridge.

The home side soon knocked off the required runs, with Kieran Trevaskis making 29 in a winning total of 101-5, despite Oliver Gibson taking 4-54.

Jarvis Clay scored 43 for Hetton Lyons at South Northumberland, but Jonathan Wightman bowled very well, claiming four wickets in the Lyons’ final total of 127 all out.
