Sex assault adds to jail time

A TRUCK driver who sexually assaulted a sleeping woman went on to commit child sex offences years later.

The incident had a “profound impact” on Steven Winters’ victim, a court heard. Years later, Winters sexually assaulted a child in separate incidents.
The 47-year-old, pictured, has now been jailed for more than seven years.
Last Wednesday, Winters, of Blyth, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court via link from HMP Holme House for sentencing.
