School closes after threat

A North Tyneside school was closed yesterday due to a “potential critical threat”.
-
Kings Priory School in Tynemouth notified parents on Sunday evening of the closure through the school's Parent-Mail channel and that it was a precautionary measure.
The school advised parents to await further updates, and said details would be shared when appropriate.
Northumbria Police has since confirmed that officers attended the school on Sunday due to a report of malicious communications.
