Ready to ring in new year?

IT'S hard to believe that Christmas is done and dusted and New Year's Eve is upon us.

And Newcastle will be ringing in the new year with not one, but two firework displays.

After all of the buildup and the panic over buying presents and getting all the food and drink in for Christmas Day, it’s now over and thoughts are turning to the end of one year and the start of another.

Last year, Newcastle was meant to see fireworks down the Quayside for the first time since the Covid pandemic, only for a severe weather warning for winds in excess of 70mph to force the displays to be cancelled at the last minute.
