Pub looking to raise cash for charity race at sea

A historic Northumberland pub is hosting an Easter charity fundraiser to help support a solo global yachtsman whilst he travels across the world in a handmade boat.

The Ox Inn in Morpeth, Northumberland, has teamed up with Adam Waugh, from Bolam who is currently sailing and competing in a Mini Globe Race covering 28,000 nautical miles in a 5.8metre yacht.

He is doing so to raise money for the Ella Dawson Foundation, which supports young people with cancer across the UK to live well and feel empowered.

Any funding Adam secures dur ing his adventures on his round the world trip that saw him set off from Antigua in February and is expected to last 14 months will be donated to the charity.
