Property firm liquidated following HMRC action

> Property company Hadrian Real Estate plc is being liquidated
PROPERTY company Hadrian Real Estate plc is being liquidated following a winding up petition launched by HMRC.
The Newcastle-based firm took control of several development schemes from failed High Street Group, which collapsed into administration in 2021 leaving scores of small investors out of pocket to the tune of £123m.
A High Court Judge has now ordered that Hadrian Real Estate is wound up after action launched by tax officials earlier this year.
Like its predecessor, Hadrian is in the hands of the Official Receiver with director Gavin Fraser confirming its property assets are owned by separate companies - in turn owned by Hadrian as a holding company - and are not included in the insolvency proceedings.
