THE summer transfer deadline is fast approaching, and it's set to be a crucial few weeks for Newcastle United. The forward line remains in desperate need of reinforcements following Callum Wilson’s departure as a free agent.

The uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak's future is dominating the headlines, so a decision must be made whether to cash in now and replace him, or hold firm until the end of the window.

We take a look at some of the strikers the club could turn to if Isak departs before the deadline, with options now limited after missing out on Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United.

NICOLAS JACKSON

One of the more obvious choices in terms of availability is Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. The Senegal international has reportedly expressed a desire to leave the London club this summer, having fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap at Stamford Bridge.

At 24, Jackson fits the younger age profile Newcastle are said to be pri-oritising, while crucially also offering Premier League experience.

There have been conflicting reports across the media over Chelsea’s asking price, with some suggesting a fee in the region of £80 million, while others claim they may be willing to accept closer to £65 million.
