Mayenda: 'We need everyone behind us now'

STRIKER Eliezer Mayenda has called for a united push as the race for promotion to the Premier League hots up for Sunderland AFC.

The Spanish forward has been a key contributor to the Black Cats' campaign, registering 12 goal involvements with seven goals and five assists. His performances have also earned international recognition, with Mayenda receiving his first call-up and caps for Spain's U21 side.

At times he has dislodged Wilson Isidor from the team and has looked the more likely to make an impact in recent matches.

With just four games remaining and a place in the Championship play-offs secured, the 19-year-old insists the entire squad is focused on achieving their ultimate goal.
